Black Rock City, NV, July 2 — Sail Shade World will be providing sail shades for the Starport Pavillion at Burning Man this year. The Starport is a revolutionary, eyecatching, and efficient pavilion area that will be located at the Black Rock City Municipal Airport. The highly anticipated airport pavillion is on schedule make its debut for one of the largest outdoor festivals in the world.
Ross Smith, architect and winner of the 2012 worldwide ecodesign competition, created a new, ecofriendly architectural star design that will act as an ideal area for the stars at Burning Man to land.
One of Starport’s main features is the Observation Deck, which will offer vast views of Black Rock City as well as the airport runway.
Another main feature of Starport are the triangular wings by Sail Shade World. Sail Shade World uses Gale Pacific Synthesis™ shadecloth exclusively that offers up to 98.8% UV protection. In the heat of the Nevada desert, Burning Man visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the pavilion’s superior quality shade.
The shaded areas of Starport will also host a number of community events and create a new and a monumental destination and meeting space for all.
Burning Man officially starts at this year at 6pm Sunday, August 24.
