Lancaster Fire Firefighters Ditch Ladders; Grab Serving Trays at Applebee’s

LANCASTER, NY –On Monday, June 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar in Lancaster, NY will join forces with members of the Lancaster Fire Department to put out meals, not fires. The event is part of Applebee’s “Tip-A-Firefighter” fundraiser and will help the firemen and women raise key funds to support the Lancaster Fire Department Explorer Program. The Explorer program is an initiative for youth ages 14 to 18 and teaches the importance of fire safety and prevention.

“Making sure that our youth are educated on the importance of fire prevention and safety is an important initiative for the entire community,” said Stephanie Griffin, director of marketing and public relations, T.L. Cannon Companies. “Through the ‘Tip-A-Firefighter’ fundraiser, we hope to provide a fun, family-friendly night for our guests, where they can share a meal while giving back to our local heroes.”

While at Applebee’s, local firefighters will greet customers, bus tables and serve guests. In return, customers will have the option to tip the firefighters, which will directly benefit the Explorer program. Many of the firefighters currently stationed at the Lancaster Fire Department participated in Explorer Program.

The Tip-A-Firefighter event will take place at the Applebee’s restaurant located at 4967 Transit Road, Depew, New York 14043.
