United Kingdom Petrochemicals Report Q3 2014 is a new market research publication announced by Reportstack. The ethane gas terminal planned for Grangemouth will enable Ineos' petrochemicals complex at the site to compete over the longer term. Grangemouth will be a shale gas-based facility by 2016. In May 2014, Ineos secured planning permission to build a GBP125mn (USD210mn) ethane storage tank at Grangemouth that will allow the company to import US shale gas that will feed the company's 700,0000tpa nameplate capacity gas cracker. However, the company also announced the closure of a small cracker with 320,000tpa ethylene capacity and a butadiene extraction unit at the site, a year earlier than scheduled.
