NASHVILLE, Tenn.–The HGTV HOME™ Plant Collection is pleased to announce that Country Raisin’s has been named a new annuals grower for 2014, according to Randy Hunter, Managing Partner of Agricola Management Group, exclusive licensee for the Plant Collection. Located in Kokomo, Indiana, Country Raisin’s will provide select annuals for the Expressions Annuals™ Collection. A leading home and lifestyle brand, HGTV worked in conjunction with Agricola Management Group to develop its various Plant Collections.
“While we often seek out large wholesale nurseries to become our strategic growing partners, we also look for smaller operations like Country Raisin’s that has carved out their own regional niche for quality plant products,” said Sarah Rolfes, Agricola Management’s Account Manager. “Country Raisin’s has grown to become an important Midwest provider of quality annuals and perennials. They join a team of more than 30 U.S. regional growers for 2014. Agricola continually seeks high-quality growers to partner with us in this exciting growth opportunity.”
“Country Raisin’s is excited about the opportunity to partner with the HGTV HOME Plant Collection as a new grower,” says Mark Hilligoss with Country Raisin’s. “When quality is the end result, a Plant Collection thrives. It’s why we’ve grown from one greenhouse to a larger operation and it’s why HGTV Plants is emerging as a major force in the horticulture industry.”
Started as a single greenhouse in 1995, Country Raisin’s has blossomed into one of the Midwest’s premier sources of quality annuals and perennials, specializing in hanging baskets and combination containers. In 2006, the nursery approached the City of Kokomo, Indiana with its idea for a beautification project using large hanging baskets and annuals plantings in the city square and downtown parking areas. Today, Country Raisin’s installs 700 hanging baskets in the annual beautification effort.
The HGTV HOME Plant Collection continues to add growers like Country Raisin’s to its growers network. With the exclusive genetics for the Plant Collection varieties, the HGTV HOME brand name and the success of the Plant Collection launch in 2013, all bodes well for a successful retail experience in independent garden centers and retailers in Spring 2014. The HGTV HOME Plant Collection has been available in more than 950 retailers in the U.S. and Canada this past year, with continued expansion of growers, retailers and plant varieties anticipated for the coming months.
In anticipation of the spring 2014 season, Agricola Management and the HGTV HOME Plant Collection have expanded the Expressions Annuals™ Collection from six to ten collections. All Expressions Annuals are offered in pre-selected color mixes available in true one gallon containers, hanging baskets or decorative containers. Individual components are sold in a single quart size.
Through pre-selection, Agricola and HGTV have taken the guesswork out of container gardening, allowing consumers to ‘color coordinate and go’ to create a polished look at home within minutes. Consumers also have the benefit of HGTV Know How!™ – referring to the plant care tips, landscaping inspiration and gardening ideas featured on the products, online and in retail stores. The HGTV HOME Plant Collection product lines also include Essential Perennials™ and Smart & Stylish Shrubs.™
