Community Events Celebrate Cheyenne Bike Week

Blue Federal Credit Union and the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) are bringing Cheyenne Bike Week back to the community this month.

Community-wide events, including the second annual Bicycle Poker Run, ladies night, and Bike to Work breakfast stations, will begin June 20th.

"Cheyenne Regional and Blue Federal Credit Union, with the help of other local sponsors, has a week full of fun events, including your chance to win a $1000 gift card to Rock on Wheels during our Bicycle Poker Run." said Molly Maley, Wellness Coordinator at Cheyenne Regional.

The $1,000 gift card will be awarded to the winner of the Bicycle Poker Run. Bicyclists can visit various participating local businesses throughout the week to gather playing cards and fill out a scoresheet for a chance to win.

The week's festivities will end again this year with a big celebration at Bikes, Brats, and Beer on June 23. The free event, brought to you by Blue and Cheyenne Regional, will be held at Freedom's Edge Brewing Company and will feature food, beer, live entertainment, raffles, and the announcement of this year's Poker Run winner. Bicyclists will receive a free beer and brats grilled by staff from the City of Cheyenne.

Bike to Work day is nationally celebrated in June; Blue Federal Credit Union and Cheyenne Regional worked together last year to host a series of successful bike events to bring the celebration to the local community. There is expected to be a successful turnout of community members biking to work again this year.

"Take advantage of the awesome weather and great Greenway, try riding your bike to work!" Maley said.

Blue and Cheyenne Regional are committed to supporting the local community while promoting healthy lifestyles, and are looking forward to planning more events like these in the future.

“We all believe in helping our community to be physically healthy as well as financially healthy”, said Michele Bolkovatz, Community Outreach Manager at Blue Federal Credit Union.
