April 7, 2016 — BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado — Organizer’s of Colorado’s Breck Epic MTB Stage Race are pleased to name Kask as the official helmet of North America’s premier mountain bike stage race. Kask will be on hand for the duration of the August event with demo units and service course helmets to support the field.
“Well organized and featuring an amazing course, The Epic has evolved into a bucket list race catering to a global audience,” offers Kask’s Nat Ross, “The race's imagery inspires riders from around the world by providing a glimpse of Colorado's backcountry mountain biking at its scenic best. Its an ideal backdrop from which to present Kask’s tech-driven, lightweight helmets to discerning riders of all types.”
“We’ll be on hand during the race with our newly released Rex trail helmet. The Rex appeals to a wide spectrum of riders with its enhanced protection zones and Kask’s signature design,” continues Ross, “We’ll also feature the super-lightweight Protone. We’re confident that Protone's superior ventilation and low gram count will raise more than a few eyebrows among the XC whippets riding at the sharp end of the race.”
“While the race has matured past its terrible twos, we’re still challenging ourselves to continually improve upon the racer experience,” says event director Mike McCormack. “Kask is a premier brand with form factor and technology that's second to none. Their activation on site helps us raise the bar by providing enhanced support for our athletes. We're thrilled to place them among core partners like SRAM, Santa Cruz, GU and Castelli. ”
“An Italian helmet sponsor also spotlights the global appeal of the Epic,” continues McCormack. “Last year, we saw riders from 23 different countries attend including 2015 UCI XCM World Champion Alban Lakata (Team Topeak-Ergon). Alban headed an all-star cast of more than a dozen national championship jerseys.”
The 6-day version of the 2016 Breck Epic is slated for August 9-14. Three day “Epic-curious” options are also available for stages one through three or four through six. Registration for all races is currently open. For more information, please visit BreckEpic.com.ABOUT BRECK EPIC
