WHAT: Cardlytics Iron Coder Software Engineering Competition, where participants have three hours to solve a series of complex programming challenges. Winners get cash prizes and guaranteed job interviews with Cardlytics.

WHY: Cardlytics (www.cardlytics.com), an Atlanta-based advertising and technology company and the pioneer in Card-Linked Marketing, is tapping into Atlanta’s high tech talent pool in a new, innovative way.

The fast-growing company created this software engineering competition to reward technology students and help identify talent for their open technology and engineering positions based right here in Atlanta.

THE CHALLENGE:  It’s a secret! The specific software engineering challenge to be solved will be announced at the competition on Saturday, March 29.

  • Competition is open to all Georgia Tech students (limit 60). Individual entries only.
  • Participants will have three hours to solve a complex problem by developing a working software prototype in any technology stack (e.g. Java, C#, C, C++, etc.).  Last year, competitors developed a guitar tablature generator to create every possible permutation from an input of 99 different musical chords.
  • All completed submissions will be judged at the end of the allotted time and winners announced at 5:30 p.m. that day. Points will be awarded based on accuracy, and the winners will be chosen based on those points. If necessary, there will be a tie breaker based on speed of completion of all tasks.

THE PRIZES:   The three individuals with the highest scores will receive an invitation to interview with the Cardlytics engineering team, plus:

  • 1st Place - $2,000
  • 2nd Place - $1,000
  • 3rd Place - $500
