London, 21st March 2014
Lululocal is pleased to announce the launch of its franchise today at the British & International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia, London the 14th and 15th of March 2014.
An exciting new marketing services franchise, LuluLocal helps local businesses to promote themselves and increase their sales, and for local consumers to get great value. The LuluLocal proposition is centred on the LuluLocal web site showing vouchers and special offers from local shops and businesses. This web site is built for each franchise territory with an address at www.lululocal.co.uk/yourfranchisearea. This is complemented by the franchise area’s own Facebook and Twitter pages, and other marketing services to business clients. Business clients subscribe to the service on a monthly basis. LuluLocal’s tagline is “Great offers, right up your street”.
The exhibition is LuluLocal’s UK, and indeed global, launch. This is the first time the LuluLocal service, promoting special offers and vouchers from businesses using its web portal, is on national view.
LuluLocal offers franchisees a unique package of web technology, branding, marketing techniques, training and support to deliver excellent marketing services to their local community. LuluLocal Head Office takes care of the technical aspects, including running and maintaining the web sites, technology development and graphic design. This frees the franchisee to concentrate on dealing with clients and prospects and the local community. They operate the franchise from an iPad which LuluLocal provides and which has simple software for taking customer orders and sending them for online publication, lead tracking, and managing social media. It’s very simple and fun to use.
A LuluLocal franchise area is based on the franchisee’s local town or county borough – it’s important that they are knowledgeable about and part of the community. They are looking for franchisees who like talking with people, be it on the phone, in meetings or online. They should have good communications skills but don’t need a background in sales or marketing – the expertise will be provided through the LuluLocal system, training and support. A LuluLocal franchise would therefore suit many people, from those with management or retail experience to mums returning to work or wanting to work part time. In return, LuluLocal can offer a chance to build a significant business doing something worthwhile and rewarding, whilst allowing flexibility to fit in with their lifestyle.
And it doesn’t stop there. LuluLocal also offers additional marketing services including printed voucher booklets, LuluInternet web sites for local businesses, and LuluBookings online appointment booking for service businesses such as hairdressers. This provides franchisees with a wide portfolio of services to offer local shops and businesses. These are all on a monthly subscription basis, and therefore create recurring revenues so that monthly sales build up significantly over time. With LuluLocal, franchisees don’t normally have to replace last month’s sales just to make the same money again this month – all new clients add to the top and bottom lines!
LuluLocal is building a national brand and the focus is on creating a very large base of business clients. To give an idea of the potential market, there are 290,000 retailers in the UK and 4.2 million non-retail businesses such as tradesmen, solicitors, therapists, gyms, etc. Just a very small percentage of these will provide significant sales to LuluLocal franchisees.
Mike Tapia, founder and Managing Director, says, “We are delighted to be launching after the long development of our offer and web site. We’ve got one main aim, which is to support our local community by helping excellent local businesses shine and compete. This will give local consumers great value for money and keep them informed of all the wonderful products and services available close to them. We think our franchisees should be a lot like us – love their communities, enjoy meeting people, and have the desire to build a great business that contributes to their neighbourhood as well as their personal wellbeing.”
Tiz Bell-Richards is the franchisee for Tunbridge Wells and has been operating this pilot franchise area successfully. Tiz says, “What immediately attracted me to LuluLocal was the aspect of support for local business, giving them the opportunity to publicise themselves more widely to local customers. I have lived in Tunbridge Wells for over 25 years and I knew that there were businesses that would jump at the opportunity to be on LuluLocal. Having set up my own businesses from scratch in the past I am very aware of the initial time and financial investment in branding, marketing, publicity, systems etc. I enjoy being self-employed but decided to seek a new venture that was already established in these areas. The support and networking aspects of a Franchise also appealed to me, it can be very lonely completely on your own, and LuluLocal’s support has been fantastic.”
