Insight UK Shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Data’ at Performance Marketing Awards

1 April, 2014: Insight UK, one of the world’s leading technology suppliers, has been recognised for its digital marketing efforts during the past year with a nomination for ‘Best Use of Data’ at the 2014 Performance Marketing Awards.

Its entry, ‘Demonstrating the Value of Performance’, follows over six months of capturing, analysing and presenting data behind the scenes to qualify the importance of the performance marketing channel to Insight’s UK business.

With 25 categories and over 300 applications, award entries were judged by an expert panel of judges and the final shortlist highlights those networks, agencies, advertisers and publishers who have excelled during 2013. Insight’s nomination puts them among the top eight businesses considered in the ‘Best Use of Data’ category.

As Ben O’Brien, EMEA Head of eCommerce, Insight UK, explains, “We are now in a position where the business understands the contribution the channel makes to client acquisition and retention.”

For Insight its relationship with webgains, an affiliate marketing specialist, was vital in justifying the investment in performance marketing.

Adds O’Brien: “This nomination wouldn't have been possible without their support, knowledge and the tireless efforts of our account manager, David Glasgow, who co-presented with the eCommerce department to several senior managers at Insight.”

As an exercise it has definitely been worth it, acting as a business enabler and continued source of revenue growth for Insight in the UK.

“Since obtaining additional investment in performance marketing we have seen significant growth in revenue,” says O’Brien. “The additional investment has allowed Insight to create partnerships with Nectar and retargeting provider GDM, leading to a 64% year on year increase in revenue. As a result, performance marketing is now the highest funded digital channel for our UK business.”

The Performance Marketing Awards Ceremony takes place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on the 29th April 2014.
