NEW YORK (June 8, 2016) – Actress LINNEA SAGE is part of the all-star cast, voicing the cybernetic assassin Nebula and freelance secret Agent 13, a.k.a. Sharon Carter, in the wildly-popular animated mobile video game, MARVEL AVENGERS ACADEMY.
Developed by TinyCo, MARVEL AVENGERS ACADEMY features iconic comic book characters transported back to their high school days, before they become the heroes and villains. Learning to harness their superpowers, these young versions of beloved characters offer angsty, hormonal time-bombs obsessed with social media, DJing, flipping off authority figures and hooking up.
Sage joins in the gaming fun as Guardians of the Galaxy’s bald-and-blue bad girl, Nebula. Always willing to assist other teens with their quests, Nebula showcases her angsty attitude and a passion for school vandalism whenever possible. Sage also gives voice to the young Agent 13, a.k.a. Sharon Carter, who came into the school with the other members of Captain America’s Civil War. She is Captain America’s girlfriend, and sometimes bodyguard, who often steers them into dangerous territory. Fans have already taken to Forums, Tumblr and Reddit to express their love of Sage’s voice as these two characters.
The voice cast also includes: Colton Haynes as Thor, Dave Franco as Iron Man, Alison Brie as Black Widow, John Cena as Hulk, Kiernan Shipka as Spider-Woman, Alexandra Daddario as Wasp, Priyanka Chopra as Ms. Marvel, A$AP Rocky as Falcon, and Bella Thorne as Tigra.
Sage was thrilled at the opportunity to be part of the Marvel Universe, adding “Voicing Nebula and Agent 13 has been an insanely awesome experience. Being a part of the Marvel Universe has been a dream of mine for such a long time. It’s been absolutely awesome working on Avengers Academy. Working to unlock my characters and upgrade them and see their awesome abilities and powers with the game is so fun. I play it every day now!”
Sage is best known for her starring role in the award-winning hit web series, WildCats, as a former cheerleader torn between taking-down the sexiest traditions of her school while discovering her true sexual identity. WildCats is currently watchable on Fullscreen’s new streaming network, on their app and Fullscreen.com. Her notable on-screen credits also include the comedy feature The ‘A’ Plate and the comedic short You’re Not That Crazy, which won ‘Best Comedy Short’ at The Friar’s Club Comedy Festival. Sage has risen up the ranks as a voice-over artist, narrating numerous books, voicing hundreds of commercials and lending her skills to several film projects. Originally from the Boston area, Sage discovered her passion for performing at an early age in local stage productions. She later attended Brandeis University, during which time she quickly established herself on the indie film scene. After graduating, she made her way to New York City to pursue her acting career further. Today, she continues to hone her comedy and improv skills at the famed UCB: Upright Citizens Brigade in New York.
Earlier this year, Sage released her third children’s book on the Apple AppStore, “Yoganimals,” which she wrote, illustrated and narrated. The book is designed to help kids enjoy exercise and focus their energy, while learning mindful breathing and having fun. It guides them through basic yoga poses with the help of some very hip animal friends.
Sage is currently in-development on her own original comedy series.
