May 20th 2014:In a move that will make taking a vacation
in Menorca much simpler for Norfolk residents, two major European
airlines have recently announced their plans to implement direct services from
Norwich airport to Mahon, the capital of the Balearic island.
The debut of these new services is part of a long-term plan from both these companies to ensure links between the UK’s many airports and the main holiday destinations in the world are as comprehensive as possible. To work towards this goal, both companies have steadily been diversifying their services to encompass smaller airports, the latest of which is Norwich.
Aside from the direct services to Mahon, customers living in the Norfolk region will also be given the opportunity to fly directly to Dalaman, in Turkey, from Norwich airport. The inclusion of additional services to this location in each company’s flight portfolio will therefore allow British holidaymakers flying from that region to extend their holiday periods in Turkey, past the standard 7-14 night stay.
Parallel to the programme being implemented in Norwich, a similar strategy has been implemented in Humberside airport, in North Lincolnshire. There, too, customers will be able to fly directly from their home to their vacation in Menorcaor Dalaman, without having to transfer flights at a larger airport. The programme is virtually identical to the one implemented in Norfolk, and inserts itself within the same strategy of making worldwide destinations more accessible for customers in more remote regions of the United Kingdom.
Tickets for each of these new routes have been made available by both companies in late April, making a short (or longer) break to this stunning Balearic island even more appealing than ever before.
