RMC GOES GLOBAL AND LAUNCHES NEW OFFICE IN LOS CABOS, MEXICO
RMC’s experienced Los Cabos team will open new office in January 2015
Aspen, Colorado – The largest privately owned destination management company in the United States is expanding its reach into Mexico with the opening of a new office in Los Cabos. The RMC (Resorts, Mountains, Cities) Los Cabos branch will be led by the highly sought-after talents of three tourism industry veterans.
“We are thrilled with our team in Los Cabos and with this latest office for RMC,” said RMC’s owner/CEO, Shawn Thomson-Palermo. “I have been spending a great deal of time in Cabo for the last 30 years and we are excited to provide this very special destination to our long-standing clients,” she added.
Kim Clapham, originally from Canada, was one of the first tourism pioneers in Los Cabos. In the past 30 years she has worked as destination supervisor of a Canadian charter tour operator prior to founding her own leisure and incentive DMC company, Terramar Destinations, which she sold nearly 20 years later. Clapham will serve as Managing Director of RMC’s Los Cabos office.
“Los Cabos and Latin America have been in my blood for over 30 years. Being able to work with Shawn and her team is very exciting. I created one very successful DMC in Los Cabos and I am looking forward to doing it again with RMC”, said Kim Clapham.
The Business Development Director, Mexico & Latin America is Alejandro Vidal, who has more than 15 years of experience in the tourism industry and business management with a strong focus in coordinating groups, and collaborating with hotels, travel agencies and government entities. Vidal served as the CEO of the first sustainable festival in Mexico that successfully brought together several tourism agencies and sponsors.
Elena Pacheco Amabile will manage and execute the daily activities for the RMC Los Cabos office. Ms. Pacheco Amabile has a degree in public accounting from the IberoAmericana University in Mexico City and was Director of Baja California Technology in Ensenada and later Los Cabos, Mexico. For five years she was the Administrative Director at Terramar Destinations DMC and most recently she was the Office and Service Director of the Los Cabos Chamber of Commerce.
The addition of the Los Cabos office means RMC will be able to serve clients in 10 locations, spanning across resorts, mountains and cities. RMC is currently booking groups into 2017.
