Silicon Couloir and Central Wyoming College present the 2nd session of the Start Up Institute.

JACKSON, Wyoming (January 21, 2014) – Silicon Couloir and Central Wyoming College have partnered to bring the second session of the Start Up Institute to Jackson, WY in the spring of 2014.  The Start Up Institute is an intensive accredited entrepreneurship program designed to provide participants with proven tools, frameworks and skills that winning companies utilize to launch successful business ideas.  It’s a hands-on, experiential and practical course focused on helping individuals work on and launch their business ideas.

This program provides a unique opportunity for anyone starting a new business venture or building on an existing business to create a lasting foundation for business success.  Silicon Couloir co-founder and Start Up Institute Program Director Liza Millet states, “The fall program was very successful and helped 16 of the next generation of Wyoming entrepreneurs take their ideas to the next level.  The course is a 10 week mini MBA, but unlike a traditional MBA program, the entire course is focused on bringing business ideas to fruition.”

From April 8, 2014 through June 12, 2104, 15-17 participants will dedicate three full days per week to class time in addition to working through the ideas after class hours.  Specifically, they will leave the program being able to:

·         Determine the key need and benefit of their product or service

Develop a clearly defined target audience profile

·         Understand and layout the competitive landscape

·         Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to optimize their product positioning

·         Build a detailed budget, financial model and cash flow projections

·         Develop a strategic plan and timeline for implementation

·         Walk away with an "elevator pitch," key marketing plan elements, a convincing investor deck, corporate overview, and more!

The class will end with participants presenting their business to a panel of experienced advisors.  Once the class time program has concluded, participants will be given follow up consulting time with a panel of experts to use as they move forward.

Sandy Schultz Hessler, who teaches the program, brings a wealth of business and teaching experience to the front of the classroom.  She has taught at Harvard, Tufts University and U. Miami Ohio and has been a successful entrepreneur and marketing professional.  She states, “Creating the strong foundation for a business - that is the mission of the Start Up Institute.  Everything we do develops the knowledge, the synergy and the support to help you build a successful business.”

Enrollment is limited.  Applications are welcome and encouraged from any location.  Financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.  College credit is available from CWC.  Go to www.siliconcouloir.com/startup for more details and to apply.  Applications are due February 1 and will be considered on a rolling basis if the class does not fill at that time.  Call Liza Millet for additional information at 917-864-9395 or email info@siliconcouloir.com.
