The announcement follows a month-long crowdsourced-voting contest. PC Construction’s employee-owners nominated 10 of their favorite nonprofits from the DC Metropolitan area. This pool of candidates was then turned over to the public to determine the final three winners.
During the four-week period concluding on May 16, more than 5,000 votes were cast.
“We’re extremely proud to be able to
give back while having the community decide the final donation recipients,”
said Kevin McCarthy, CEO and president of the 100 percent employ-owned PC
Construction. “Our presence in the DC Metropolitan area has grown considerably
in recent years. We owe a large part of our success in DC to our clients and to
the communities that have welcomed us with open arms.”
“All three organizations provide such outstanding services in the community, services that touch most of our lives in some way during our lifetimes,” added McCarthy. “Ayuda, which provides opportunities for those new to the United States, has undoubtedly helped families and friends of many of our employee-owners, and For Love of Children and DC Central Kitchen have enriched the lives of our neighbors and communities. We couldn’t be happier with the contest results”.
