Bilbao, Spain - The future of data protection has arrived with Wifimity, a gadget that combines an electronic safe-box for passwords and a shield for a safe internet surfing. By creating a private WiFi hotspot, this palm-sized fingerprint accessible device, encrypts all data transmitted from a personal computer or mobile device before transmitting it via cipher over the shared network when you are using a WiFi spot out of home. With this firewall in place, the mobile device or computer being used becomes invisible to those attempting to collect information for any purpose be it hacking or simply for advertising. All data is encrypted before entering the shared network, the dangerous webs are locked, the virus are killed, and the cloud data will be encrypted.
Every year there are more studies revealing that the most-popular passwords are plain awful. Obvious passwords like "123456" and "password" always top the lists. Worse, many people use the same lame password everywhere. It doesn't take a black hacker to break into an account that uses one of these terrible passwords, just a good guesser. The problem is, avoiding same passwords and lame passwords is hard—too hard for most people to manage without help. Fortunately, help is available in form of Wifimity. Wifimity is a tool that allows you to store your login information in an encrypted format and retrieve it as needed. To prevent hackers from accessing your passwords, Wifimity just require a fingerprint.
"Traveling, the people use WiFi networks. They’re very easy and fast to use. The problem is that the bad people love WiFi. When you connect to WiFi, with or without a password, you can be inside the same network as a black hacker and this means you are vulnerable to attacks and sniffers. It was for these reasons that we created Wifimity. It's the most convenient way to safely surf the web." explains Wifimity creator, Pablo Reig.
Reig has worked for more than 25 years in the custom electronics field and has several patents to his name. He has developed complex algorithms in collaboration with the mathematics department of the Technical University of Bilbao, and has made modems for GPRS, narrow band modems, and WiFi systems with encrypted solutions. He and his team are passionate about creating devices that are sleek, functional, and address real security and connectivity problems. Over the past year they have manufactured several prototypes of the Wifimity and have had overwhelmingly positive feedback. The final design is set to hit the market in Spring of 2017.
Reig has taken to Kickstarter to raise the funds needed complete the final prototype and to go into production. The Wifimity Safe Box and Wifimity Shield are available for pre-order until July 18 at a fraction of the suggested retail price. Backers in the United States and Canada can take advantage of their free shipping offer.
