How does the Lander Swim Club (LSC) serve Lander? Lander Swim Club’s mission is to empower athletes of all ages to achieve their personal best and grow through excellence in swimming. LSC is the home of the Lander Tiger Sharks and provides year round coaching and instruction to recreational and competitive swimmers ages 3 to 60, serving over 300 swimmers each year. LSC coaches also work closely with athletes of the middle and high school swim teams to prepare them for competition.

How will your Challenge for Charities donation to the Lander Swim Club make a difference in Lander this year? LSC is raising funds to provide a swim training and inspiration clinic with an Olympic swimmer in the fall of 2014. Last year, LSC hosted a 4-hour clinic featuring Olympic athletes Misty Hyman and Karlee Bispo. Challenge for Charities funds allowed LSC to provide this event at an affordable cost to over 65 athletes and coaches. The motivational and instructive clinic was a highlight of the 2013 LSC season.

How else can you help the Lander Swim Club? Parent/athlete volunteerism keeps the Lander Swim Club active and growing. Community members are invited to help with the organization and operation of swim meets, timing during competition, and to volunteer on the LSC board and sub-committees.

What else? LSC has been active in our community for the last 42 years. LSC promotes fun, family, exercise, team spirit and achievement of your personal best. The LSC program enables swimmers to grow from minimal swimming ability into competitive swimming ability according to the swimmer's desire and ability. Through LSC, Lander swimmers have the opportunity to compete at the local, state, regional and/or national levels. LSC is proud to offer a scholarship program that provides financial assistance so that swimming can be an accessible sport and development opportunity for many members of our community.
