Six new dishes join Barrel 31’s summer menu, including Southern classics with a twist

Refreshed menu highlights comfort food flavors in summer selections available July 23

KANSAS CITY, MO. (July 23, 2015) – Following its menu revamp in March, Barrel 31 announces the addition of six items to its whiskey-inspired menu. The additions join more than 20 creations crafted by Executive Chef Eric Carter, all unveiled within the past four months.

Chef Carter’s new dishes continue to enhance Barrel 31’s new-American dining experience, pulling from well-known comfort cuisine and Southern flavors, present in the new Fish and Chips and Chicken and Waffles entrées. Subtle but strong flavors shine through in Chef Carter’s Sweet Tea Braised Pork Belly, as well as crispy oysters atop a familiar, open-face BLT sandwich.

The six summer additions will be available for dine in or carry out on July 23. Complete new dish details are as follows:


Chicken and Waffles – herb and jack cheese waffle, chicken fried steak, crispy chicken skin, fresno pepper caramel

Oyster BLT – crispy oysters, Burgers’ jowl bacon, green tomato jam, mustard greens, corn bread

Sweet Tea Braised Pork Belly – pimento cheese grits, peas and carrots, bourbon reduction

Fish and Chips – Gulf coast grouper, grilled lemon, snow pea slaw, house cut fries, remoulade sauce

Steamed Mussels – PEI mussels, whiskey brown butter, scallions, chiles, grilled bread


Chocolate Cobbler – peanut butter whipped cream and graham cracker crumble
