CORPUS CHRISTI, T.X. — One lucky veteran will get the ride of a lifetime this Thursday, April 16th at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi with aerobatic champion Rob Holland. The Rob Holland Ultimate Airshows Hero Flight Program, sponsored by Window World, will select one veteran at random from all the nominations received to take a ride with Rob in the Window World Extra 300, a high performance, two-seat aerobatic airplane. If you are a US military veteran and would like to participate or if you know a veteran who you'd like to nominate, go to the Hero Flight Program page on Rob Holland’s website (, complete the form provided, and choose “NAS Corpus Christi Airshow” from the Airshow Location menu. 

To be eligible for the Hero Flight Program, a nominee must have served on active duty in the US military, weigh no more than 200 pounds, and be and no taller than 6’2”. In addition, nominees should be in good physical condition so they can withstand the G-forces they will experience during the flight and mobile enough to be able to get out of the airplane if there is an emergency. Rob Holland Ultimate Airshows will select one veteran at random on Wednesday, April 15th to participate. The Hero Flight will take place Thursday, April 16th at NAS Corpus Christi, weather permitting. A precise flight time will be determined once the veteran has been selected and notified.

The Veterans Airlift Command (VAC) provides free air transportation to wounded warriors, veterans and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
