on July 30, 2016
LOS ANGELES (July 20, 2016) – Actress MARISSA CRISAFULLI gets caught in a grisly fight for survival starring in Mary Russell’s acclaimed horror short film, CARVED. The shocker of a short has received much attention on the genre circuit and will screen next as part of the Etheria Horror Short Films Selections at the Midsummer Scream Halloween Festival on July 30th at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Immediately following the CARVED screening at 1:15pm, Crisafulli will participate in a special Q&A panel discussion that promises to be a bloody-good time for all who attend.
CARVED follows Eden (Crisafulli), her sister Eboni (Angelica Chitwood) and two friends (Chia Chen and Kate Nichols) as they hit the road for Las Vegas. The women hit a roadblock when they encounter a rogue cop possessed by an inmate’s satanic soul. The diabolical deeds grow even more gruesome as demonic transference overtakes the women, eventually pitting sister against sister.
Crisafulli is excited at the fan response to the film, adding "I am thrilled at how many people have fallen in love with the film. It's amazing when you have so much fun making something and it really translates to the audience!"
Tall, blonde and stunning, Crisafulli has been building a solid reputation as an actress and model. This quintessential ‘California girl’ grew up near the beaches of Malibu and discovered her artistic side at an early age. She studied ballet, piano and clarinet all throughout her formative years, and started writing, producing and starring in her own films and theatrical productions by the age of eight. While earning her B.A. at the respected Chapman University, this natural beauty was discovered by a modeling agency. She quickly began her professional career working as a runway model and frequenting the pages of fashion magazines. Since graduating, Crisafulli has been featured in numerous editorials, music videos, commercial campaigns, television shows and has become a rising star on the indie film scene.
Crisafulli is currently in development on a new web series and two feature films.
Marissa Crisafulli is represented by Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty (CESD).
