Tender Belly Supports Outdoor Industry with Key Sponsorships

DENVER, Colo. (January 13, 2014) – Tender Belly, a creator of premium pork products, demonstrates its commitment to the outdoor industry with key sponsorships for 2014. The brand’s growing influence in the outdoor market continues to take root as it expands its ambassador team to include elite outdoor athletes and furthers its industry event support.

Tender Belly was founded in 2010 by brothers Shannon and Erik Duffy. Born in Iowa to a farming family, the brothers developed a love of pure, natural foods and extended that passion, along with a healthy entrepreneurial spirit, to their pork products, which they source from local, family-owned farms. Shannon, the current owner, is also an outdoor enthusiast – he is an avid snowboarder and mountain biker – and he is dedicated to aligning the business with individuals and organizations that support the growth and health of the industry.

For 2014, the expanding Tender Belly ambassador team includes category-leading outdoor athletes Dash Longe and Ben Hoffman. Born and raised on the shore of Lake Tahoe, 28-year-old Longe became a professional skier at age 14. After a handful of park and pipe based ski film segments, Dash began to explore the backcountry while filming with Teton Gravity Research (TGR). His smooth style, penchant for big air, and eagerness to travel to all corners of the globe led to a nomination for Best Male Performance of 2013 at the Powder Awards. The Salt Lake City resident, currently in his 10th season as a TGR athlete, credits a quality diet for his continued success in such a competitive industry.

Ben Hoffman is a professional triathlete who got his start as a collegiate competitor at the University of Montana. Now he spends his time training in both Boulder, Colo., and Tucson, Ariz., two of the United States’ fitness meccas. A lifetime bacon lover, Ben is also a four-time Ironman champion, four-time Ironman 70.3 champion, and an Xterra and Rev3 champion.
