WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA- March 27, 2014: Pet supplement firm NuVet Labs® has announced a new partnership with “Hounds Helping Heroes Heal,”
a Texas-based non-profit organization co-founded by Susan Herbert and Mark German of America’s Canine Academy. NuVet Labs is donating NuVet Plus
supplements at no charge to veterans who are paired with a service dog through the non-profit. Mark German, an 18-year U.S. Navy veteran diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, and Susan Herbert, canine behavior specialist, founded “H4” to create a healthier future for U.S. Military Veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. H4 rescues dogs from shelters, trains them to perform disability related tasks, and pairs the dog with an appropriate veteran. Upon learning about H4’s goals to reduce veterans’ PTSD and TBI symptoms through canine companionship, NuVet Labs felt that contributing to the health and wellness of the rescued pets was equally important. “What Hounds Helping Heroes Heal is doing for the veteran community is commendable. We want to make sure these pets remain in optimal health and lead longer, healthier lives with their new owners,” says Matt Simpson of NuVet Labs. NuVet Labs is excited about this new partnership and the opportunity for “helping a hero by helping a dog.” ©
