(Butler, PA) The BC3 Education Foundation, Inc. recently welcomed three new members to serve on the Board of Directors: Robert R. Heaton, Bob Hovanec, and Rex Knisely. The BC3 Education Foundation, Inc. Board secures and manages private funds for the benefit of Butler County Community College.
Bob Hovanec retired as President and COO of Peoples TWP (formerly T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co.) following a career that extended over 33 years. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Hovanec previously served on the IUP Board of Trustees and IUP Foundation Board. He is also a member of the BC3 Pioneer Proud Campaign Steering Committee. Bob is also a Board Member on the Pastoral Councils for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and St. Catherine of Sweden Church. Bob lives in Gibsonia with his wife Francine.
Bob Heaton was born and raised in Butler where he has worked since he was eleven years old. After graduation from Butler High School in 1947, Mr. Heaton enrolled in mortuary science school in Cleveland then returned to his hometown where he worked in the funeral industry until retirement. In retirement, he dedicated his time to real estate development and has successfully developed a number of residential and commercial properties throughout Butler County. He and his daughter, Leanne, manage RHGL Enterprises in Butler.
Rex Knisley is Senior Vice President Commercial Banking, Regional Manager for First National Bank’s Northwest Region. Mr. Knisley has over 36 years of experience in the banking industry and has been with F.N.B. since 1991. He is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Mr. Knisley is the Chairman of the Hermitage Community and Economic Development Commission. He serves on the LindenPointe Development Corporation, a Hermitage based STEM technology business incubator, and the AJ and Sigusmunda Palumbo Charitable Trust based in Pittsburgh. Rex and his wife Dawn reside in Hermitage.
