Free Holiday Trolleys presented by Google Fiber will give holiday revelers a glimpse of the future KC Streetcar for 3 weekends in December, stopping at 4 primary locations; one stop per weekend will feature a larger-than-life snow globe
KANSAS CITY, MO. (Nov. 24, 2015) - The second annual Downtown Dazzle returns to Kansas City for the holiday season and features five Holiday Trolleys presented by Google Fiber that will conveniently connect downtown guests with holiday festivities, theater productions, restaurants, bars, and more. Riders can take advantage of the trolleys to commute to various points throughout downtown and the Crossroads, whether it be from a production at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts to dinner in the Kansas City Power & Light District, or from the Marriott Downtown to Crown Center for holiday shopping. The trolleys will give riders an experience of what they will enjoy when the KC Streetcar is fully operating as the trolleys will follow a similar route of the future streetcar.
The trolley rides will be free and make stops along the route at the Kansas City Power & Light District, the Kansas City Marriott Downtown (Barney Allis Plaza), Crown Center, and Union Station. Each stop will feature unique holiday elements such as a gigantic Snow Globe photo station, holiday entertainment from local groups and organizations, and holiday refreshments. The free holiday trolleys will run continuously on Fridays from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 4-10 p.m. on December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19.
The gigantic Snow Globe photo station, created by local design company Dimensional Innovations, is new in 2015. The nearly 20-foot snow globe features custom backdrops of downtown Kansas City allowing visitors to capture holiday selfies. Photos will be delivered via Twitter and/or email. The Downtown Dazzle Snow Globe photo station will be offered at three different locations during the three weekends:
- Friday: Noon – 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
