Jessica Reece Fagan has been named a partner with Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder, a family law firm in Cobb County.
The promotion is especially meaningful for partner Rebecca Crumrine Rieder, who taught middle and high school before embarking on her law career, because Fagan is a former student. “It’s a particular delight to see one of the most impressive students I taught grow into an outstanding attorney and colleague,” says Rieder. “The strong level of service she offers our clients made the decision to name her a partner an easy one.”
Jessica Reece Fagan practices exclusively in the area of family law. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Georgia Bar Association. She is also active with the DeKalb Bar Association and DeKalb Bar Foundation.
Jessica received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, cum laude, and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Georgia State University. While in law school, Jessica received Honors Distinction in Litigation, was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the Student Trial Lawyers Association and on the Moot Court Board. Jessica is admitted before the Supreme Court of Georgia, all Superior and State Courts of Georgia and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia. Prior to practicing at HHR, Jessica practiced at the international law firm of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Jessica currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyer's Division of the State Bar of Georgia ("YLD") and was named Co-Director of Sponsorship for 2015-2016. In 2015, she co-chaired the YLD Signature Fundraiser and, at the annual meeting of the State Bar of Georgia in June 2015, received an Award of Achievement from the YLD. Jessica is also the former co-editor of the DeKalb Bar Association Newsletter, which received a best legal newsletter award from the State Bar of Georgia under her direction.
Jessica also has extensive community involvement with several non-profit organizations. She currently serves on the board of Georgia Organics and the Westside Community Group for Community Farmers Markets. Jessica also recently served as Board President of Generation Green of the Georgia Conservancy (2012-2014), as well as on the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Conservancy and on the Board of the Wylde Center.
Prior to practicing law, Jessica worked as a magazine development coordinator for Morris Communications and served as Editor-in-Chief of LOUNGE, a monthly magazine based in Augusta, Georgia.
