SWA-Dallas Marks 30 Years of Award-Winning Work in Texas, Mexico, and the Bahamas

Landscape Architecture Firm’s Most Celebrated Work Includes Williams Square, Katy Trail, Las Ventanas al Paraiso and Capella Pedregal Resorts

Dallas (Dec. 24, 2014)—The Dallas studio of international landscape architecture, planning, and urban design firm SWA recently celebrated its 30th anniversary of operations this year. The festivities at SWA offices in the popular Design District recognized exceptional local work such as Williams Square, Victory Plaza, Katy Trail, Radio Shack’s headquarters, Fidelity’s Corporate Campus, the 100-acre Deloitte University, and a relationship with the Four Seasons Resort Club Dallas at Las Colinas that spans the firm’s existence.

Led by Managing Principal Chuck McDaniel, SWA-Dallas has left an enduring stamp on places and spaces throughout the Metroplex, and has also earned accolades for efforts far afield, including the AAA Five-Diamond for Las Ventanas al Paraiso and Capella Pedregal resorts, both in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Among the firm’s grateful clients is Nunzio DeSantis, Director of HKS Architects, who says, "Over the years I have had the privilege of working with the best and brightest consultants from around the world and it is easy for me to say that SWA is one of the most creative and genuine design firms I work with. I have immense respect for SWA and Chuck McDaniel."

Another valued client is Richard Holland, of HRV Hotel Partners, who adds, “Over 15 years I have had the privilege and pleasure of working alongside Chuck, Andy and others at SWA in creating some great resort environments. In my 30+ year career of hospitality development I have not seen another landscape architect that could match Chuck's skill and talent in creating great landscape and waterscape spaces.”

The SWA-Dallas team’s expertise in resort design extends beyond Mexico; projects in the Bahamas include the award-winning luxury retreats Grand Lucayan and Tuckers Point Club.

Established in 1957, SWA has seven offices worldwide. The firm has worked in more than 60 countries and its projects have received over 800 awards. To learn more, visit
