Website is latest addition to Fremont County Museum System

The Fremont County Museum System launched a website recently for the Dubois Museum, Pioneer Museum in Lander and the Riverton Museum.  The website is the result of a lot of planning and collaboration between the three County operated museums.

For the first time all three museums will have a nice on-line presence.  Scott Goetz, Central Director said, “We felt it was important to promote and showcase all three museums in one website.  By doing so we can take advantage of everything our museums have to offer in the way of programs, exhibits, research …. It is more efficient and cost effective for us and will be a much more effective tool to cross promote our museums.”

The website contains a calendar of events for the system as well as a calendar specific to each museum, a Views from the Past photo gallery for each museum, information to promote our sponsors, contact information & hours of operation for the three sites and information on how to support all three museums.  In addition, visitors to the website can view and download the latest issues of the Wind River Mountaineer and the Fremont County Museums System Newsletter, “Discovery”.

Plans are already underway to expand the website to include historic walking tours in Dubois, Lander & Riverton, the Wind River Explorer and an online store.  Those additions will come online throughout the next year.
