Heckler Design Announces Its Involvement in the Microsoft Designed For Surface Program

Heckler Design, a made-in-the-USA product design company, today announced its participation in the Microsoft Designed For Surface Program, empowering the organization to develop Surface-specific accessories for business and consumer use. The goal of the Microsoft Designed For Surface Program is to serve customers by providing third-party hardware accessory manufacturers designs and details for accessory design intended to work seamlessly with Surface devices. As part of the program, Heckler Design has announced the new WindFall Stand for Surface 3, WindFall Frame for Surface 3, and WindFall Kiosk for Surface 3.

With its security features and commercial-grade construction, the new WindFall accessories support enterprise implementation of the Surface 3, including secure mounting to the countertop, wall, VESA-compatible arms, as well as free-standing, mid-room installations.

“Surface 3 has bridged the gap between laptop and tablet, and businesses worldwide will reap the benefit,” said Dean Heckler, founder of Heckler Design. “In combination with our commercial-grade WindFall for Surface 3 products, businesses can now have broad implementation of Surface at a very low price point.”

“The Designed For Surface program was created to address the growing demand for Surface accessories to complete a wide range of use scenarios in business, at home and on the go,” said Cyril Belikoff, Director, Microsoft Surface. “We look forward to working closely with our Designed For Surface Program participants to better serve their customers and create compelling solutions together.”

The Designed For Surface program allows accessory manufacturers to really embrace Surface as a 2-in-1 device and help people move seamlessly with their Surface between tablet and laptop experiences. The WindFall Stand for Surface 3, WindFall Frame for Surface 3, and WindFall Kiosk for Surface 3 are constructed from thick, laser-cut steel, thoughtfully designed around important ports, sensors, antennas, cameras and buttons.

Microsoft is working with leading manufacturers to develop accessories that make Surface more useful when touch is the interface of choice and even accessories that are thoughtful about incorporating the Surface Type Cover click-in keyboards and Surface Pen – elements that are unique to Surface open up a world of possibilities for helping people do more.

The new WindFall for Surface Series will soon be available in a variety of colors directly through www.HecklerDesign.com.
