Ya Mon, Algo Sabroso, "something tasty," is cooking up at the Caribbean Marketplace!
Darryl Johnson aka Chef DP, the CEO of SabrosoSauce,™ is grilling up Fried Conch Burgers & Conch Fritters, with a side of delicious Conch Salad, beginning April 9th, 2015, at the Marketplace at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex in Miami, Florida. The Marketplace is welcoming Chef DP as a featured culinary expert.
He will be a daily presence at the facility, serving his tasty delicacies Thursday through Sunday, 11am to 7pm.
"We are excited about partnering up with the talented Chef DP, more importantly, we are thrilled about joining forces with someone who continuously gives back to the community. Having him at the Caribbean Marketplace adds a Bahamian swag to our Afro-Caribbean flavor,” said Sandy Dorsainvil Manager of Little Haiti Cultural Complex, home of the Caribbean Marketplace.
Born in Miami of Bahamian-descent, Darryl Johnson aka Chef DP, learned to cook from his Bahamian grandparents and mother as well as mentors at the Miami Culinary Institute downtown. His love for food and entrepreneurial spirit were discovered early as a child when he sold homemade butter cookies at events throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties. He also has many loyal customers who patronize his mobile kitchen across from North Shore Hospital.
Johnson’s customers have come from far and wide to enjoy his chunks of sweet, tender conch imported from the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos or for his fritters, made from a batter that has bits of conch, green pepper, onion and secret seasonings, but Johnson, is about more than delicious conch fritters and salad. The personable Chef, known for his comedic personality, shades, and bright smile, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Through Chef DP Charities he adopts a floor each year at Holtz Children’s Hospital and is involved in many charitable efforts throughout Miami and beyond.
In 2011, Chef DP established SabrosoSauce,™ a delicious blend of high-quality sauces and seasonings, hand created with fresh and natural ingredients. He has additional products on the way.
“I am excited to be partnering with the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, said Chef DP. I enjoy being a part of the community and I love the energy and flavor of the Caribbean Marketplace.”
