Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Celebrates Elvis’ Birthday with an Elvis Costume Contest on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014

Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) announces that on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 it will commemorate the birthday of music legend Elvis Presley with an Elvis costume contest. Skiers and snowboarders who wear an Elvis costume can purchase lift tickets for $25 and enter themselves into a contest to become this year’s King of the Mountain. Lift tickets must be purchased in person at guest services. The winner takes home a $100 voucher; second and third place winners receive a $50 and $25 voucher respectively. Vouchers can be used toward a season pass for this season or the 2014/15 season.

The contest is open to men and women all ages. Elvis costume contest judging will take place on the patio of the base lodge at 2:00 p.m.  A DJ will be spinning Elvis mash-ups on the main deck from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. The event is sponsored in part by Red Bull.

“Elvis is a huge icon and important part of Las Vegas’ history. That period was also a very special time at LVSSR,” said Maria Jose Norero LVSSR’s director of marketing. “Las Vegas has such a colorful and interesting past so it’s fun for us to create an event where we can celebrate how unique we are as a skiing and snowboarding community.”
