Jacqui Blue discusses Beautiful Births:
"This is and has been a very grass roots project that was created with passion and will likely continue to be a grass roots outreach in my approach to getting it seen by the masses as I continue to reach out to the birthing communities across the country. My objective with this film is not to tell anyone where or how they should give birth and at no point is the hospital system demonized in my film. But I want to help empower women and give them the information that mainstream media and their doctors within the US medical system fail to tell them," said Jacqui. "That was my intention with this film because every time I turn on the television to watch anything about pregnancy and childbirth, it's always full of fear tactics and is not
realistic for the average woman. So instead of waiting for someone else to make a film about birth the way I wanted to see it, I did it myself. And I hope that no matter where or how a woman chooses to give birth, after watching my film she'll be better informed on what it is she wants as well as what is available to her that she may not have known about before."
Her debut film, Beautiful Births is educational documentary about the natural process of pregnancy, labor and child birth that is different from the mainstream medical way that most women in America have come to think of as "normal." Three women share their birth stories of in and out of hospital experiences. In this film, information is given on an array of topics such as why diet matters during pregnancy, cesarean section and the option of vaginal birth after cesarean section. It also touches on the dangers and risks posed by early inductions and interventions in childbirth. The film's mini prelude onYoutube has received over 4 million views and counting; The official documentary trailer is available at: http://buff.ly/1qX7Sm4
Beautiful Births is a wonderfully produced film which does a great job of presenting the truth about natural birth which has been well received by natural birth advocates and media alike:
"I was so blessed to be given a privilege to watch the whole documentary. I was so touched and moved by it. It highlighted stories and beautiful photographs of women who were giving birth the natural way. I could relate although I gave birth twice in a hospital. I found women who shared their stories in the film admirable. They had the guts to go back to basics. I believe that men should watch this to better understand what women are going through during pregnancy and delivery." - AllRoundPinayMama.com
"The stories the women share in the film are touching and powerful. Some of the stories I could relate to from my own hospital experiences, mostly the fact that often, you don't feel in control of your birth. Jacqui Blue does a wonderful job in opening our eyes to the realization that women do have other options and can have the birthing experience they desire." - B-is4.blogspot.com

Beautiful Births is a feature length documentary that invites you to explore another side of pregnancy and childbirth not often shown in mainstream media. About Jacqui Blue
Jacqui Blue a is documentary filmmaker, writer, photographer, artist and mother of five sons. Before putting herself through film school, she spent the greater part of the last decade working as a stay at home mom and wife. Having had a Cesarean section with her twins, followed by two very different but successful hospital VBACs, which was then followed by a water birth in a birth center, Jacqui developed a passion for natural birth and fell into "alternative" or "attachment" parenting styles. When she became annoyed with the programming available to women about pregnancy and birth, she decided it was about time for someone to make a film that showed another, a different, a more natural way to bring children into the world.
