Latina Actress TILDA DEL TORO Joins All-Star Cast for Warner Bros “OUR BRAND IS CRISIS”

LOS ANGELES (October 28, 2014) – Rising Latina actress TILDA DEL TORO joins the Warner Bros political dramedy, OUR BRAND IS CRISIS, directed by David Gordon Green.

The all-star cast is led by Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton, who go head-to-head when a maverick political consultant (Bullock) comes out of retirement to lead a team of American consultants hired by a controversial South American politician in a presidential election. The film is penned by Peter Straughan and based on the 2005 documentary of the same name.

The cast also includes Anthony Mackie, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, Reynaldo Pacheco, Dominic Flores, Louis Arcella, Octavio Gomez Berrios and Joaquim de Almeida.

Currently in production in New Orleans, Bullock is exec-producing the project with George Clooney and Grant Heslov on board producing under their Smokehouse Pictures banner. Participant Media’s Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King, and Stuart Besser are also serving as executive producers.

This Peruvian, Puerto Rican & Spanish beauty was born and raised in the north side of Chicago and started acting at an early age in the thriving theatre scene. She was cast in the original Steppenwolf Theatre’s production of “House On Mango Street” and went on to build a solid reputation on the vibrant Chicago improv scene. She appeared in numerous shows directed by Del Close including “The Harold,” and created the first all-Latino theatre improv troupe, “Salsation.” Del Toro has trained with Joyce Piven, Second City, The Annoyance and The Moscow Art Theatre University of Chicago program. She studied Modern Dance at Columbia College and English at Northwestern University College. On-screen, Del Toro has appeared on LIFE (NBC) with Damian Lewis, THE TONIGHT SHOW and several shows for the Telemundo network.

Currently, Del Toro is in pre-production on the feature film, JULIA, in which she wrote and will produce under her TILDA DEL TORO ENTERTAINMENT banner.
