April 26, 2016

(Butler, PA) The Butler County Community College Education Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce a gift of $15,000 from Farmers National Bank of Emlenton to support innovative education initiatives including the BC3 Center for Economic Education and the BC3 College within the High School program. Both programs are eligible for Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) gifts. This is the fourth year that Farmers made a gift to BC3 through the EITC.

The BC3 Center for Economic Education provides financial literacy education to students in grades 5-12. Each year, students learn about financial markets by participating in a competitive stock market challenge with approximately 30 schools and 1,500 students in the region.

BC3's College Within the High School offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college level classes and earn transferable credit. The program offers 80 classes in 20 high schools in the region with courses ranging from Economics to College Writing.

“We are fortunate to have the outstanding backing of Farmers Bank for these programs,” said BC3 President Nicholas Neupauer. “Farmers supports our EITC eligible programs and is the Title Sponsor for the BC3 Foundation Golf Outing since 2011. This partnership has benefited countless number of students and we are grateful for the bank's confidence in the College.”
