Actor ROBERT BAGNELL Brings the ‘Nice-Guy’ Back to HBO’s Cult Comedy “THE COMEBACK”

LOS ANGELES (November 24, 2014) – After being cancelled 9 years ago, HBO’s THE COMEBACK is back! Actor ROBERT BAGNELL will reprise the fan-favorite ‘nice-guy’ character, Tom Peterman, in the all-new Season Two of HBO’s mockumentary faux reality series, THE COMEBACK.

The ground-breaking cult hit was created by Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow, who stars as Valerie Cherish, an ex A-list celebrity trying to rekindle the flame of her once prominent acting career with nothing but a camera crew and some determination.

In the first season, Tom Peterman (Bagnell) was an integral part of Valerie Cherish’s storyline and career. He played the Executive Producer/Co-Creator (alongside Paulie G) of the television sitcom ‘Room and Bored’ that Valerie stars on. Tom took a calmer, nice-guy approach to working with Valerie and at times offset the brutally direct criticism of Paulie G (Lance Barber). Eventually, ‘Room and Bored’ was cancelled and all three went their separate ways. Now, 9 years later, Tom will cross paths with Valerie as she makes yet another desperate attempt at fame.

‘Bags’, as he is affectionately referred to by fellow cast and crew members, is beyond thrilled at a very rare second opportunity to work with this immensely talented group of people. Bagnell adds, “Having the chance to bring Tom Peterman back to life is an indescribable feeling. We were all so in love with working together on the show in Season 1 and so painfully devastated when the show was cancelled.  After so many years passed, the idea and rumors of any possible resurrection soon became all but a fading dream. So returning to work on Season 2 was a miracle!  Every aspect of having the chance to work with everyone again is like being in some kind of surreal time warp.”

Also coming soon, Bagnell is set to Guest Star on the series finale of the CW’s wildly popular, HART OF DIXIE, with series regulars Rachel Bilson and Wilson Bethel.

Recognized for his edgy deadpan sarcasm and over the top sense of humor, Bagnell continues to  draw a devoted audience of fans while always cultivating his own comedic talents. He’s appeared in countless film and television projects, including a series regular role on the AOL/Vuguru comedy series “Fletching”; and recurring/guest-star roles on “The Office,” “Perception,” “Happy Endings,” “Dark Blue,” “ER,” “Las Vegas” and “Monk” among others. He also starred with friend Jon Hamm and Mel Gibson in Randall Wallace's film 'We Were Soldiers,” adapted from the critically acclaimed novel ‘We Were Soldiers Once And Young'.

Before making his way to Hollywood, the Long Island, New York native studied acting at the world renowned Circle In The Square Theater before graduating with a BFA in Acting from the prestigious Tisch School of The Arts at New York University.

Robert Bagnell is represented by SMS Talent and New Wave Entertainment.
