SeasonFive Performance apparel adds to their SUP team roster

BRECKENRIDGE, CO (March 06, 2014)—SeasonFive has added to their athlete team, with the addition of 2 new river stand-up paddle athletes.  Both based in Colorado, Ken Hoeve & Alex Mauer prove their skill year after year, as the river aspect of the Stand-up paddle boarding sport continues to break new ground.

"Both Ken and Alex bring a complete different dynamic to the sport, and both have their unique styles and skills as they take on a river, but they both hold a very similar drive and persistence both on and off the water, which we at SeasonFive share a very similar passion."

About Ken Hoeve:

Living in Colorado for the past 20 years, Hobie has been a fixture on the whitewater kayaking scene as both a competitor and announcer. His accomplishments range from victories on Gore Canyon, the Arkansas’s Royal Gorge, Clear Creek and Utah’s Weber river to announcing and hosting events like the Reno River Fest, GoPro Mountain Games, FiBark and Dominion River Rock. And within the past 5 years he has become an instrumental figure in the progression of running rivers on an SUP. His stand up descents of the Numbers section of the Ark, Dowd Chute, Barrel Springs, Gore Canyon and countless laps in Glenwood Canyon have not only pushed the limits but also encouraged others to get on boards and get after it.

About Alex Mauer:

Alex has been riding river waves since he was 12 years old, and helped pioneer the surf scene in Colorado, by co-founding the Colorado River Surfing Association, and helping organize some of the first surf comps in Colorado’s history.  Some of Alex's accomplishments in 2013 was being crowned the Colorado race series champion, and in 2014, plans to take his river surfing to the next level, starting with claiming a world record for longest time spent surfing a wave.

"We are extremely excited to have 2 of Colorado's best paddlers join SeasonFive, and they will both become part of our close team to not only progress and grow the sport, but also help us with new product development and solve a lot of the apparel & gear problems that face water athletes today."

"Our focus on our team for 2014 is to maintain a smaller group of ambassadors & team members, so we can actively work much closer with our team members, and ensure we can support them as much as they support us.  We will be actively engaged with them, far beyond the traditional model, to ensure we can both continue to push the sport, and progress where it can be taken."

Hoeve and Mauer will both be featured on the SeasonFive website, along with the other team members, which a new site will be launching this month.
