Tijuana Bullfight To Headline Rock & Taco Festival This June
On Saturday, June 11, Tijuana Bullfight will be headlining the Rock & Taco Festival in Tijuana, Mexico. The band is an American ‘sludge rock’ outfit from Los Angeles, and they’ve been coined ‘The Original Southern California Sludge.’ The event will feature six other bands and twenty local taquerías vendors. The festival is expecting attendance in excess of 8,000 patrons, with many tourists traveling in for the show.
The show will mark the first time Tijuana Bullfight has brought their unique brand of sludge rock to Mexico. The band will be bringing an all-original lineup, including core members Mark Atienza and Anthony Binikos. Rich Contadino, a drummer the band hasn’t shared the stage with in six years, will also perform.
Tijuana Bullfight has been described as an eclectic outfit that ‘captures the loud, fast, free, sun-burnt spirit of west coast rock.’ Since their inception, they’ve shared the studio with notable producers, occupied some of the most legendary west coast studios, and performed an array of high-profile performances. Tijuana Bullfight has rocked out at SXSW, NXNW, Motor City Music Festival, and other events.
Tijuana Bullfight is in the process of wrapping up their next studio endeavor, the highly anticipated follow-up to their album ‘Southern California.’ The band is ready to bring their rumbling, thunderous, and rocking show to Mexico and introduce audiences to the sound that the west coast has grown to love.
Rock & Taco will be at the Cecut, Tijuana’s cultural center in the Zona Río district of the city. Fans can connect with the band on their website and social media, and learn more about the festival via its Facebook page and event.
