Founded in 1968 by members of the local community and CWC trustees
How does the Central Wyoming College (CWC) Foundation serve Lander? The Foundation exists to extend financial support to CWC and its educational programs. The CWC Foundation supports numerous academic programs and scholarships, campus improvements, technology enhancements and other special initiatives. The Foundation specifically supports students from Lander with scholarships to attend CWC and also with program funding for a variety of on and off campus events.
How will your Challenge for Charities donation to the CWC Foundation make a difference in Lander this year? 2014 Challenge for Charities Funds will be used to provide additional scholarship assistance to Lander students attending CWC. In 2013, Challenge for Charities donations help to fund two scholarships for Lander students enrolled at the College. This year, the CWC Foundation hopes to increase their contributions towards scholarship funding. Currently, more than 100 Lander students benefit from CWC scholarships.
How else you can help the CWC Foundation? CWC Foundation offers many volunteer opportunities for community members to assist with their annual fundraising event, Oktoberfest, which will be celebrating its 14th year this fall.
What else? CWC has commenced work on an expansion project for a new Lander campus that will allow for greater class sizes and offerings in Lander. In addition to classes and support for enrolled CWC students, the CWC Lander Center offers many non-credit class offerings that are open to all members of the Lander community.
