Sharp Again Naturally and Omega Institute presents "Hope for Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease Conference" July 1-3

Sharp Again Naturally, an educational nonprofit founded in White Plains in 2012, announced today that a brand-new approach to preserving and restoring memory will be the focus of a weekend conference Sharp Again is co-hosting with the Omega Institute on July 1-3 in Rhinebeck NY.  Entitled Hope for Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease, this first-of-its kind conference boasts as headliners three world-class doctors, experts on preventing and reversing Alzheimer’s and dementia. The conference will also be available On Demand via Live Stream till Oct 1.

Up till now, this lifesaving information has been fragmented, scattered, and impossible to find in digestible and comprehensive form. The breakthrough presented at this conference is a new multi-causal, multi-therapeutic paradigm that updates and facilitates understanding and collaboration between physicians, families, and patients to preserve and restore cognition.

“This conference is relevant not just for those who are already experiencing symptoms,” said Lisa Feiner, a presenter and co-chair of Sharp Again. “but also for those of us who are symptom free. You needn’t wait for symptoms of dementia before taking action!”

Designed for both lay and professional audiences, the conference features these leading-edge doctors:

  • David Perlmutter, MD, FACN, ABIHM, is a board-certified neurologist and associate professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Author of seven books including the #1 New York Times best seller, Brain Maker, he has been featured on 20/20, The Dr.Oz Show, and more.

  • Mark Hyman, MD, is a nine-time #1 New York Times best-selling author and an internationally recognized advocate in the field of holistic health and Functional Medicine. Director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, Hyman is founder and medical director of The UltraWellness Center.

  • Dale E. Bredesen, MD, founding president and CEO of The Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and holder of the Mary S. Easton Chair for Alzheimer’s Disease Research  is internationally recognized as an expert in the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. His research has led to new therapeutic approaches in identifying and treating Alzheimer’s disease.

The program will open Friday night with a presentation by members of the Westchester-based Sharp Again team, including Founders/Co-Chairs Lisa Feiner and Jacqui Bishop; and filmmakers Patricia Tamowski and Scott Douglas, principals of Health Advocates Worldwide. The presentation will include Health Advocates video of researchers, physicians, and patients who have reversed symptoms of cognitive impairment; including the footage that originally inspired the formation of Sharp Again Naturally. Saturday will feature the three doctors presenting the breakthrough science, and Sunday will focus on how to bring all this wisdom home in a manageable way to preserve and restore cognitive function.
