March 31, 2014 (Vail, Colo.)— This summer’s GoPro Mountains Games, the country’s largest celebration of athletes, music, art and mountain lifestyle, is overflowing with free clinics, demos, films and concerts.
“We pride ourselves on making the Games accessible and engaging for everyone that attends,” says Mike Imhof, Senior Vice President of Sales & Operations for the Vail Valley Foundation. “With over 25 free activities this year, it’s going to be hard for anyone not to find something fun and exciting at this summer’s games.”
Ground-zero for free stuff and special event priced gear at this year’s games will be Gerber Gear Town. With over 80 mountain sport and lifestyle brands exhibiting in Vail Village, there will be no shortage of free contests, swag, and special pricing on the latest outdoor gear and apparel.
When it comes to free music, six different free concerts will take place over three nights as part of the nightly Bud Light Mountains of Music Free Concert series. Bonfire Dub will be opening for Xavier Rudd on Thursday, Soft White Sixties opening for Tokyo Police Club on Friday and A Million Billion Dying Suns opening for Cold War Kids on Saturday.
Free GoPro training sessions will be held throughout the entire weekend to help users take their GoPro skills to the next level. Event-goers can sign up for these training sessions during the event and get unique, hands-on guidance from GoPro’s professional trainers.
For the first time at the Games, Vibram will give attendees a chance to do the impossible: walk on water. Participants will have the option of going barefoot, or using products featuring Vibram's soling technologies, while running across a pool of non-Newtonian liquid.
Other free events include Vibram Disc Golf, free Yoga Sessions, Costa River Town, Costa Casting clinics, Goal Zero Charging Stations, free Films, the Eddie Bauer Zip Line and much more.
