CHARLESTON, S.C., Feb. 11, 2015 – Wild Dunes Resort, A Destination Hotel, is giving guests a reason to celebrate the end of bitter-cold winter weather and beginning of spring with savings on nightly rates and a number of new offerings. Whether it’s a Spring Break escape with the family, girlfriend getaway, Mother’s Day vacay or Easter extravaganza, guests can soak up savings with 15 percent off nightly rates for stays March 27-May 21, 2015 in the AAA Four Diamond rated Boardwalk Inn, Village at Wild Dunes and select vacation homes and condos. Those who arrive on a Sunday through Wednesday will also receive a $25 resort credit per night for use on resort dining, spa services, golf, tennis and more.

 

Families and friends can melt away winter blues and recharge with a number of new and exciting springtime activities and events, including:

 

Wild Dunes Wilderness (Isle of Palms):  Ideal for those traveling with friends or family on Spring Break, groups enjoy a scenic guided kayak tour led by a naturalist of Morgan Creek, the IntraCoastal Waterway and Lowcountry salt marshes teeming with wildlife. This two-hour trip concludes at a secluded hammock island where paddlers are free to swim, explore and relax before the journey back. Cost is $50 per adult (age 13+) or $30 per child (age 12 and under in a tandem kayak with adult).

 

Sunset Champagne Extraordinaire (Shem Creek): Perfect for girlfriend getaways or couples escapes this spring, guests are treated to a guided two-hour paddle to Crab Bank Island Seabird Sanctuary, complete with dolphin sightings. A delicious spread of Lowcountry appetizers and Champagne awaits explorers to enjoy as they watch the sun set over the gorgeous Shem Creek shrimping village and harbor. Cost is $58/adult.

 

Iconic Ironworking Class: Charleston’s historic homes, churches, gardens and gates are adorned in elaborate and iconic ironwork dating back to the city’s origination. During the class, guests learn the history of this celebrated art form of the Lowcountry and create commemorative iron pieces that serve as long lasting memories of their Charleston vacation. Charleston Photography Tours: Led by award-winning professional photographer Tiffany Briley, Wild Dunes Resort is offering four new and distinct Photography Tours that educate and inspire guests to capture the beauty of the Lowcountry. Tours range from discovering historic downtown to capturing the breathtaking seascapes, marshlands and century old oak trees that surround the resort. Duney’s Sunday Pool Party- March 29, 6-8 p.m.: Families and Spring Breaker’s can celebrate the end of winter with the ultimate Charleston pool-party at the Resort’s Palmetto Hall and Swim Center. Party-goers are treated to a dinner buffet of hotdogs, hamburgers, BBQ, southern-style sides and an ice cream sandwich bar. Cost is $40/adult, $15/child. Easter Offerings at Wild Dunes Resort (March 28 – April 5):

·         Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the North Croquet Lawn (April 5 at 9 a.m.)- Children 10 years and younger can scoop up toy and candy-filled eggs in the Resort’s annual Easter Egg Hunt held on Easter Sunday. Prizes are awarded to the lucky few who find a golden egg. Event is free.

·         Breakfast with the Easter Bunny (March 28 and April 4 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.)- Families can enjoy an unforgettable morning with the Easter Bunny, complete with pictures for the kids and Bloody Marys and mimosas for the adults. Cost is $20/adult, $12/child. Adults 21 and over can enjoy unlimited beverages for $17 (with breakfast) or $20 (independently).

·         Easter Sunday Brunch (April 5 from 10:00 a.m. and -12:30 p.m.)- A special Easter brunch buffet featuring traditional brunch favorites like waffles and omelets, other special items include hand-carved leg of lamb and glazed ham, fruit display, chef’s selection of special desserts and more. Cost is $47/adult, $18/child. 

·         Easter Basket Deliveries (April 4, 4-8 p.m.)- Parents can make their child’s evening extra special with a Wild Dunes Resort Easter Basket, complete with a collection of games, toys, stuffed animals and candy delivered by the Easter Bunny himself. Cost is $30/basket.
