(TRAVPR.COM) DAVID HARE’S SKYLIGHT RETURNS TO THE WEST END

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - June 5th, 2014 - This summer, play Skylight will be staged at Wyndham’s Theatre for an initial run of ten weeks. With acclaimed director Stephen Daldry at the helm, and Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan in the lead roles, it promises to be one of the major London events of the season.

Mulligan – making her West End debut – stars as Kyra Hollis, a schoolteacher whose life is turned upside down when a former lover (played by Nighy) shows up, unannounced, in her life. Over the course of an evening, the old flames reminisce and recapture some of the spark they once had. But the reunion seems doomed as their respective beliefs emerge in sharp conflict with each other.

Brilliantly staged by the multi-award winning Daldry, and with a stellar supporting turn from Matthew Beard Skylight explores the diverse paths forged by parted lovers. The play won accolades on its 1995 debut, including the prestigious Lawrence Olivier Award, and is widely tipped to woo critics this time around.

Tickets for Skylight and countless other London events are available via LondonTown.com. The website is also offering discounts on local hotels, including the St Martins Lane Morgan’s Original hotel (a two minute walk from the theatre). Guests booking through LondonTown.com can take advantage of a room rate of £169 per night – a 41% discount on the standard cost.
