The Sky’s the Limit for Thrill-Seekers in Glenwood Springs

Finish your summer vacation on a high note – the family-friendly kind -- in Glenwood Springs, Colorado where the sky’s the limit for taking fun to new heights.

Whether it’s taking the tram to the top of Iron Mountain to ride adrenaline-pumping thrill rides at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park or soaring like an eagle off the top of Red Mountain with a tandem paragliding experience, these adventures are appropriate for families with school-aged children though some height and weight restrictions may apply.

For big thrills try these rides at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park:

Glenwood Canyon Flyer.  Perched on the edge of Glenwood Canyon this ride swings riders around and around, 1300 feet above the Colorado River.

Cliffhanger Roller Coaster. The highest-elevation full-sized coaster in the U.S. offers cliff-side curves and heart-stopping drop-offs.

Alpine Coaster. The first and longest of its kind in Colorado features individual cars on tracks that race through the trees and down the mountainside.

Giant Canyon Swing. Even the bravest souls need to muster courage for this ride which launches riders out over Glenwood Canyon.

Soaring Eagle Zip Ride. Riders travel 600 feet up the mountain and then zip ride back down to ground level.

To glide like a bird of prey over hilltops, homes and the Roaring Fork River, sign up for tandem paragliding. Experienced flyers from Adventure Paragliding will guide you as you lift off from Red Mountain and descend gently into a grassy meadow.
