J. Gilbert’s to host collaborative wine dinner with Hess Wines on May 5

Multi-course dinner features surf-and-turf eats with paired wines

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (May 2, 2016) – J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood announces its latest collaborative dinner, featuring a four-course wine dinner with Hess Wines on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. The multi-course dinner includes a blend of surf-and-turf offerings thoughtfully paired with selections from Hess Wines.

The wine dinner is priced at $79.95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required, and seating is limited. Reservations can be made by calling J. Gilbert’s at (913) 642-8070.

First Course:
Heirloom Tomato Mozzarella Salad – basil oil, asparagus, prosciutto
Paired with Hess Sauvignon Blanc, North Coast 2015

Second Course:
Coconut Salmon Cake – celery, micro greens, spicy mustard aioli
Paired with Hess Collection Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2013 

Third Course:
Braised Short Ribs with a Peppercorn Demi-Glace – roasted cauliflower puree
Paired with Hess Select Treo blend, California 2012

Fourth Course:
Chocolate Cheesecake – Oreo crust, fresh berries
