ASPEN SNOWMASS, Colo.—Aug. 19, 2014—Aspen Snowmass is scheduled to host the inaugural Red Bull Rise event Saturday Sep. 20, 2014 featuring endurance runners from around the world. Taking place on Aspen Mountain from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., the 12 hour endurance running event will challenge competitors to contend for the highest number of laps on the three mile course. With over 3,000 vertical feet of climbing, racers will run up the mountain and then take the 14-minute ride down the Silver Queen gondola to complete one lap.
Competitors will compete in solo, duo and team divisions. Registration is now open at https://endurancecui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=9430652. The cost to register starts at $75 per person before September 1 and will increase to $95 per person after. Registration cost includes professional timing, aid station support, lift passes, finishing medal and custom event t-shirt.
For the winners who complete the most laps up-and-down Aspen Mountain, first place takes home $1,250, second place $750, third place $500, fourth place $300 and fifth place $200 in both the men’s and women’s solo divisions.
