Florida Celebrates the Dog Days of Summer with a Tail-Wagging New Microsite and National Contest
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 9, 2015) – Okay, dogs, we know you can read. But if you’re having trouble, get your owner to read this aloud, because we know you can hear better than most animals. Now sit—sorry, just habit—and listen to this. Get some great photos of yourself and share them on social media. What do I mean, “social media”? That’s what your owner is doing on her phone when she’s walking with you, or hanging out at the dog park, or waiting in line with you at the grocery store. Just tap the little square camera icon, or blue icon with an “f” on it, or the little white bird, or the little red triangle. Use one of your long nails that should have been clipped a week ago.
Pick a photo of you doing what humans wish they could do. Swimming effortlessly in the ocean. Picking a Frisbee out of mid-air with your teeth. Then type #DogsLoveFL and send it. Why? Because you do love Florida. And if you haven’t been here yet, you’re going to love it. Want a sneak peek? Check out this website.
Now go to “LIVE with Kelly and Michael’s” Pet Pix Photo Contest. You have to share your photos there, too. Then you have a chance to win a $10,000 trip to Florida with you and your owner. We’re talking fun in the sun and sand, treats, even longer naps, and lots of other dogs to hang out with (Truth is, you don’t have to take your owner, but you probably should since she takes care of you all the time and shares photos of you on social media every other day).
If you don’t believe me, believe Mr. Tickles (Tell your owner to read this part in a high voice because Mr. Tickles is a Lhasa Apso).
“Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, baroooo, arf, ruff, ruff,” Mr. Tickles said of his favorite dog beaches. “Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff, arf, arf, arf, arf, arf.”
Okay, now go play—and find that phone.
