Barrel 31’s Valentine’s Day dinner for two features six dishes appearing on its menu for the first time

Special prix fixe menu allows diners the choice to select appetizers, entrées and desserts for $70 per couple

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 5, 2015) – Treat your sweetheart to Barrel 31’s special three-course Valentine’s Day dinner for two, featuring appetizers, entrées and desserts not yet available on its regular menu. All Valentine’s Day dishes are new to Barrel 31, with the exception of Executive Chef Eric Carter’s Shrimp & Grits entrée, which made its debut during Kansas City Restaurant Week in January. The new dishes will serve as a preview of changes to come on the new spring menu, to be announced in early March. The Valentine’s Day dinner menu is $70 per couple.

Barrel 31 will also be offering its Valentine’s Day dinner menu as a special to-go option for diners to enjoy at home, featuring the same three-course selection. To-go orders will be accepted through Thursday, Feb. 12, and can be picked up from the restaurant at any time on Feb. 13 or 14. Full menu details:

House Cured Meat Board – bone marrow, country ham, duck prosciutto, house pickles, pastrami mustard

12 Hour Braised Pork Belly – Burger’s Farm ham hock broth, slow poached egg, grilled scallions, ramen noodles
Shrimp & Grits – Anson Mills grit, fried peppers, lemon parsley salad
Wood Roasted Salmon – local vegetable succotash, celery salad, maple bourbon jam

Sticky Toffee Pudding – warm fig cake, salted butterscotch caramel
Lemon Meringue – meyer lemon curd, whiskey sour meringue
