Houston’s 2015 Money Live Inspires Local Youth to “Cash In” On Advice.

Hundreds of youth in The Houston Texas Area are set for a financially successful future, thanks to Money Live 2015

Houston, Texas - The 2015 Money Live event took place this past Saturday at the NRG  thanks to local and national sponsors and vendors  which included; Chick -Fil- A, The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Strayer University, University of Houston Clear Lake’s Center for Executive Education, Workforce Solutions, Wells Fargo, and JJ’s ‘I'm Me’ Foundation.

The event itself took over twitter and  Instagram with thousands of impressions, as teens and college-age students shared photos of the Money Live’s various event platforms.

“We helped families understand everything from basic budgeting concepts to navigating college grants and financial challenges. Our guest speakers and advisors handled everything through direct Q&A sessions and also utilized interactive exercises to simulate real-world experiences,” said Lonnie Mathews- Director Of Money Live Event.

Members of the media who participated in Money Live’s 2015 event included Alex Green Media, Rolling Out Magazine, HTV, KHOU- Great Day Houston, Incline Magazine, Presidential Style Magazine, My Fox Houston, 2 LOUD Magazine, Houston Style, 97.9 The Box, Radio-One (Sunday Morning Live), Texas 101 Jams, and more. “It was impressive to see how many members of the press supported this event.

It is extremely important that we invest in tomorrow’s future leaders and bring attention to financial issues. Talking about things really helps our community address current and potential issues, which is a now started conversation thanks to these media outlets,” finished Trayham.

Lonnie Mathews spent time speaking about financial independence as the event’s keynote presenter.  JJ on the Mic (97.9 The Box) helped transition the different elements of the event, which also included Ryan Akers Of (Sky's The Limit Youth Center), who discussed the importance of budgeting,  Terry Williams (HEB), who discussed the importance of having an ‘End Game’ and wealth management.

MoneyLIVE is a program designed for high school through college age youth to provide them with the financial decision-making tools they need to create financial independence. This live one-day event will give high school through college students a hands on opportunity to learn about careers in the areas of engineering, sciences and business. The lessons learned during this event create good financial habits that last a lifetime.
