With six new drinks and two returning favorites, this neighborhood dive bar has released a new drink menu.Best of all, the cocktails come in at $10 or less – and are accompanied by an eclectic line-up of music spun by some of Houston’s top DJs.
“The menu is designed for spring and summer weather,” owner Steve Hannigan said. “The possibilities for creating a cocktail are almost endless. I trusted my staff to invent some delicious, unique cocktails, and we culled the best for this menu. This was a collaboration by a really fun, enthusiastic crew.”
Here are a few selections from the new line-up:
-- The Backporch combines Bulleit Bourbon and orange with honey, mint and ginger beer.
-- Flor de Cana silver, maraschino, grapefruit, lime and simple make up the perfect Hemingway Daiquiri.-- The Sloe Jam Punch – with Plymouth, Plymouth Sloe Gin, Averna, lemon and turbinado- is an excellent fruity drink with just enough of a kick to remind you you're enjoying an adult beverage!
-- The Scuttlebutt Sour is a mixture of Smith and Cross, Flor de Cana silver, Crème de Violette, Herbsaint and grapefruit.
-- Smoke and Hops – made with Del Maguey Vida, lemon, agave, IPA and a kick of spice by adding Serrano pepper – is for you, tequila fans.
-- Fernet Branca, Crème de Cassis, lemon, turbinado and ginger beer combines to make a predominantly gingery, spicy, and very refreshing concoction. Ginger Spice -- try the Geri Halliwell!
“It was time to breathe some new life into our menu,” Hannigan said. “And so far, the Back Porch and Geri Halliwell have been the best sellers. Ruby Red Crush and Smoke and Hops are also popular – which is why we decided to bring them back.”
The Ruby Red Crush contains Deep Eddy, grapefruit, lime, pineapple and grenadine. Smoke and Hops is made with Del Maguey Vida, lemon, agave, IPA and a kick of spice by adding Serrano pepper.
Clutch City Squire is part of the growing nightlife scene located near Market Square. Located at 410 Main St., the bar is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays.
