Louis Lake Road on Washakie Ranger District remains closed

Lander, Wyo. (May 24, 2016) – The Washakie Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest will keep Louis Lake Road, FSR300, closed until further notice due to existing conditions.

While Louis Lake Road, also known as Loop Road, is able to open by Memorial Day some years, the amount of snow currently on the road will keep the road closed for a few more weeks. If conditions change, a partial opening of the road may be possible by the second week in June. For further information about the closure, please contact the Washakie Ranger District office at 307-332-5460.

As America’s first national forest, the Shoshone National Forest has 2.4 million acres of diverse terrain and a mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the forest to meet the needs of present and future generations.
