This issue on SOHM “TOP INDIE FILM INDUSTRY PROS ISSUE” APRIL/MAY 2016. Let them be your motivation…
Letter from the Founder / Editor-in-Chief
Welcome to the April-May 2016 issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine! While Spring is almost over, we look forward to the pleasant Summer months with anticipation and gratitude for you, our loyal readers. This month, the editors at SOHM are thrilled to bring you inspirational stories from the world of Top Independent Film Industry Pros. There’s never shortage of talent in this town as we bring you inspiring stories from Hollywood’s top rising stars.
This issue’s cover story features Vida Ghaffari, best known for her appearances on the television comedies, Mind of Mencia on Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC and The Mindy Project formerly on FOX. Vida is also known for her work with various charities and missions in the downtown Los Angeles area. As a result of her charity work, Vida received a recommendation from the City of Los Angeles and the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
This issue also features Jason Stojanovski. From an early age he’s faced more challenges than most adolescents will ever experience by growing up with cerebral palsy. He’s beaten the odds to become an acclaimed film, television and stage actor, as well as an advocate and an inspiration to the multitude of people affected by the same condition. We’re proud to share his story.
We’re also featuring Lars Slind, a hard-working, dedicated film and television actor and established model. Besides being multilingual and offering solid hard-earned advice to aspiring actors, Lars has a history with The Family International in Japan, an organization that helps orphans and homeless in the Kansai area, and contributes care packages to the Philippines for Haiyan relief.
SOHM proudly remains a publication free of politics and gossip, with a unique focus on Real People, Real Stories, from the Arts and Pop Culture community. The professionals we feature make a difference in our communities by using their success to give back, and we are thankful to share their heart-felt stories with you. As always, we will continue to provide the industry’s foremost creative meeting place with monthly showcases, news, opinions, analysis, and audience feedback.
The upcoming May-June 2016 issue will feature an emphasis on Top Asian/Pacific/Hispanic Industry Pros. Keep an eye out for exclusive interviews with the industry’s leading professionals and much more. We hope you enjoy this issue and look forward to your feedback and continued support!
