Vacation Express will begin nonstop flights to Dominican Republic this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS - February 12, 2016 - “It will be the most special Valentine’s Day my husband and I have ever had!” Allison Sutton, of Huntingburg Indiana, is excited about heading on her honeymoon to a Caribbean vacation paradise out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) this weekend. She is one of many travelers taking advantage of the newest nonstop flight out of IND - the inaugural trip to Punta Cana from Vacation Express. The flight leaves Indianapolis Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. for the Dominican Republican destination.

Vacation Express, one of the country’s largest tour operators with more than 25 years of experience, launched in Indianapolis last March with seasonal nonstop service to Cancun. They offer all-inclusive vacation packages with exclusive nonstop flights from 18 cities as well as most U.S. cities on scheduled airlines to destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica. For IND flights to Cancun and Punta Cana, Vacation Express is partnering with Mexico’s Volaris Airlines.

The new service to Punta Cana is one of 24 new nonstop flights added at IND since 2014, the most in more than a decade. Already this year, IND has announced new nonstop service to Savannah, Georgia and has launched additional new flights to Philadelphia. IND currently offers service to 44 nonstop destinations.

“This nonstop flight out of IND is awesome,” says Allison. ”My husband and I had an option to fly out of another airport, with a long layover. We would have lost a whole day of vacation just traveling, so this new flight makes a huge difference.”

Punta Cana is one of the Caribbean’s top tourist spots, offering plenty of recreational opportunities including sailing, deep sea fishing, snorkeling and whale watching. The Punta Cana International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean.

"We are excited about adding flights from Indianapolis; we know this will become a popular departure city for us as we have had requests from many passengers and travel agents who are looking for a great deal to the Dominican Republic,” said Kevin Hernandez, Vacation Express USA vice president of marketing and sales. “From luxury hotels and amazing all-inclusive resorts to budget friendly getaways, Punta Cana offers everyone a piece of Caribbean paradise close to home at an affordable price."
